Hello world!

FDC provides three main services targeting two main groups of at-risk young women and their families:

  • Early Childhood Development for infants and toddlers of teen mom’s so education can be continued;
  • Parenting classes with emphasis on health and wellness, family restoration and father involvement;
  • Preventative programming for at-risk teens that are likely to face teen pregnancy, incarceration or both.

The Family Development Center is a successor to an original ministry in the Central High neighborhoods of Little Rock, appropriately named Catherine’s House.  Formed in 1996 by action of the Board of Mount St. Mary’s Academy with funding awarded by Catherine’s Legacy, Catherine’s House provided 10 years of loving and restorative services to hundreds of pregnant teens, teen mothers and related families.  FDC now carries this legacy forward by building a network of collaborative services in Central Arkansas to provide an accessible, secure and nurturing environment to empower teens for productive and satisfying futures.
